The press room is home to our B2, 5 colour Komori printing press which is operated on a double day shift. The press is network-linked to our prepress department, allowing inking duct levels to be imported and set automatically. This results in shorter make ready times and minimises the number of set up sheets of paper being used.
Printing speeds of up to 15,000 sheets per hour can be achieved whilst still maintaining colour consistency. Using a combination of infra red drying lights and an inline coating unit, heavy ink coverage sheets are touch dry immediately, which eliminates ‘set off’ and decreases the time required before postpress procedures.
We can print paper thicknesses varying from 70gsm Offset up to 600mic Folding Box Board, which allows us to produce many varied jobs, from multi page manuals to heavy duty boxes and cartons.
